Add Your voice!

Add Your voice!

23 November 2017

Take part in promoting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) by recording yourself reading an article from the Declaration in your native language!

The Add your voice project is a multilingual, collaborative effort of the United Nations (Department of Public Information and the Human Rights Office), Universal Human Rights Initiative (UHRI), and Showbox, a video-creation platform. The goal of our project is to raise awareness about the UDHR by creating a technology-enabled educational tool that can be used by anyone, anywhere in the world.

You can record yourself reading one of the 30 articles of the UDHR in any of the 135 languages currently available on the site. You can later share your work via social media.

Along with the multi-lingual videos, audio recordings of the full Declaration are also being collected. By combining the video and audio recordings, we offer an interactive tool that ultimately aims to broaden access to the Declaration to new audiences, including the millions of illiterate or visually impaired.

Have a look at the latest recordings from all around the world and record yourself now!

  • I will respect your rights regardless of who you are. I will uphold your rights even when I disagree with you
  • When anyone’s human rights are denied, everyone's rights are undermined, so I will stand up
  • I will raise my voice. I will take action. I will use my rights to stand up for your rights.
