Anti-racism day 2021
On the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (21 March) we celebrate the young human rights defenders who, through their global engagement for equality and inclusion, build solidarity, lead change and stand up against racism.
#IStandWithHer
To reach a world where women and girls, in all their diversity, have equal rights, we need to dismantle gender stereotypes, and amplify the voices of the people who are calling for change. Stand With Her, and join the global movement towards gender equality.
#StandUp4Migrants
Join us to tell a new story about migration, one of hope and shared values. Together we can bring about change and stand up for migrants’ human rights.
Human Rights Day
The theme for this year’s Human Rights Day relates to the COVID-19 pandemic and focuses on the need to Recover Better by ensuring human rights are at the heart of the recovery efforts.
SOLIDARITY
Respect for human rights is fundamental to the success of the public health response and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Join us and put human rights and community at the heart of the response.
The World is in Our Hands
We are all born free and equal in dignity and rights. To increase global awareness of the first two articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Human Rights Office teamed up with the Krim Group and renowned photographer Justin Wu to relaunch the “World is in Our Hands” initiative in support of OHCHR’s #StandUp4HumanRights campaign.
Fight Racism
#FightRacism fosters a global culture of tolerance, equality and anti-discrimination. Every day, each and every one of us can stand up against racial prejudice and intolerant attitudes.
#IStandWithHer
We showcase the work of women human rights defenders around the world. They are fighting collectively for human rights and social transformation across a range of issues, including domestic violence, sexual harassment, women’s rights online, education and sexual violence.
#NotGhosts
People with albinism are a unique group whose human rights issues have generally gone unnoticed for centuries. The result is deeply engraved stigma, discrimination and violence against them across various countries.
Free & Equal
Human rights are for everyone, no matter who you are or whom you love. Stand up for the equal rights & fair treatment of LGBTI people everywhere.
Universal Declaration of Human Rights @70
On the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we shine a light on the many ways in which universal human rights contribute to the daily lives of people everywhere.
- I will respect your rights regardless of who you are. I will uphold your rights even when I disagree with you
- When anyone’s human rights are denied, everyone's rights are undermined, so I will stand up
- I will raise my voice. I will take action. I will use my rights to stand up for your rights.
