Rémy Pagani
Mayor of the City of Geneva, Switzerland
Rémy Pagani, the Mayor of the City of Geneva, has stood up for social and economic rights since his youth. Locally engaged, he defended social housing in the City centre of Geneva when it was at risk. As a trade unionist, he defended labour rights and rights to decent working conditions. In 2017, he stood alongside human rights defenders in Colombia when their lives were threatened. Rémy Pagani’s engagement for social and economic rights is one of the core values Geneva embodies in the struggle for human rights.
